Cultivated Flowers, Shrubs, and Trees of Sweden
Exploring Swedish Gardens

As a plant geek and photographer, all plants are exciting, even those in garden beds. In Uppsala, Sweden we toured Linnaeus' professorial home and botanical gardens where he cultivated species imported from around the world. Some garden beds included closely related species side by side, showing how the plants were distinctly different, yet clearly related. I photographed flowers there as well as in home gardens and flowerbeds, wherever flowers were in bloom. Scroll down the page to see some of the cultivated species encountered in Sweden.
